OUR TEACHERS

Miskee Blatner

Mrs. Blatner, a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, has been teaching since 1999 and has taught students in grades 6-12.  She received her Master's Degree in School & Community Health Education from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and her undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Currently, she is the Education and Training Career Pathway teacher, and department chair for the Career & Technical Education Department at Eldorado High School. She also teaches a dual credit course through Central New Mexico Community College, and serves as a teacher leader for the Eldorado Chapter of Educators Rising, and most recently is the Central Region Coordinator for the New Mexico Educators Rising CTSO.

Mr. Ryan has been teaching for 19 years, the last 12 at Eldorado. Mr. Ryan teaches Computer Graphics, Intro to Multimedia Journalism, Multimedia Productions and Yearbook. Prior to Eldorado Mr. Ryan taught English, Social Studies and Photography at multiple schools in Ohio and Arizona. Mr. Ryan has a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor's in Journalism from Colorado State University. Before teaching, Mr. Ryan spent seven years as a sports writer, general assignment reporter and photographer for newspapers in Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho and Arizona.

Mr. Orosco, is a Business, Marketing & Finance teacher at Eldorado High School. He is new into the teaching profession and heads the DECA I, II and Marketing Research programs. He also manages Eagles Nest, Eldorado’s Small Business Enterprise, during lunch. Mr. Orosco received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Studies and his Masters of Business Administration in Marketing & Operations Management from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Orosco utilizes his retail management, advertising research & real estate experience along with his schooling to bring real world / life experiences into the classroom. As a former DECA student and National Qualifier, he aspires to produce National Winners for the Eldorado DECA program.

Mrs. Meyer has been the Culinary Arts teacher at Eldorado for eight years. She is also the FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) sponsor. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Human Services, with dual licensure in FACS and Health. She is also a certified ProStart teacher with a ServSafe certification. Mrs. Meyer's goal is to teach students a life skill that is also a viable career option. In four years, she grew a floundering program into a career pathway offering four levels of Culinary Arts. She believes in hands-on learning and strives to bring current industry equipment and experiences to Eldorado students.

Joe Platt

Mr. Platt has been working on cars since the sixth grade. He has had many jobs in the automotive industry and follows industry standards which align with current employability skills as well as two year college automotive programs. Mr. Platt attended Denver Automotive and Diesel college as well as receiving a B.A. in Technology Education. Mr. Platt has been teaching high school automotive classes for 20 years. He is very skilled in the automotive industry.

Rick Sleeter

Mr. Sleeter has the honor and privilege of teaching field classes in anthropology, archaeology, forensics, world geography, and history at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque New Mexico. His primary mission is to develop STEAM projects that connect students with community partners. Rick strives to create unique environments that transcend the classroom walls in ambitious real world project-based learning. Learning that enhances the lives of students in profound and meaningful ways.

Brittany Gabaldon

Brittany Gabaldon is an Albuquerque native and an Eldorado graduate. She has her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Multicultural Education. She has spent the past twelve years teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. She is married and has two little boys who attend S.Y. Jackson Elementary School.

Mr. Gonzales teaches Woods, CAD Architecture and CAD Engineering. He was at Hoover Middle School prior to joining Eldorado and has also taught in Colorado.
