First-year students learn basic preventative maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacement, cooling system inspection and maintenance, battery testing and service, and tire inspection and maintenance.  Auto I students will receive the skills required to become a GS-1 mechanic with employability skills. Auto II and Auto III students learn basic brakes, steering and suspension service, as well as basic operation and diagnosis. Advanced students will also learn how a basic engine works and get training on engine performance problems and diagnosis. All Auto classes are aligned to meet the basic entry-level needs of a two-year automotive college.
